The Add/Edit VolumeKey Window

Use this window to configure new a VolumeKey or edit an old one.

The Add/Edit VolumeKey Window

1: The Three Modifier Options
Check as many or as few of these three boxes as you want. These boxes set the modifier (Control, Shift, and/or Alt) for the VolumeKey.

2: The Main Key
Press any key in this box to select the action key. If nothing happens when you try to press a key, the key cannot be used.

3: The Action List
Select an action from this list to tell VolumeKeys what to do when the specified trigger key is pressed. The action can be to set the volume, increase the volume, decrease the volume, or toggle the mute. Set the amount to set to, increase by, or decrease by in the amount box (#4).

4: The Amount
Enter any number between 1 and 100 to set the amount for the action specified in the action list. This is the amount the volume will be set to, increased by, or decreased by, in percent of the total volume.

5: Easy on the Ears
Easy on the Ears is a special feature that allows for gradual changes in volume. This setting can be used for both changing the volume and muting it. For example, if the volume is set at 75% and you press a VolumeKey that mutes the volume using Easy on the Ears, the volume will go from 74%, to 73%, to 72%, etc. until it reaches 0%, or muted. The speed at which the volume changes is set on the options tab (see The Options Tab).

6: The Display Name
The display name is the name shown in the main window and used to reference the VolumeKey.

7: The OK Button
If you are editing a VolumeKey, pressing this button alters the VolumeKey and closes the Add/Edit window.

If you are adding new a VolumeKey, pressing this button creates the new VolumeKey and closes the Add/Edit window.

8: The Cancel Button
If you are editing a VolumeKey, pressing this button rejects all changes and closes the add/edit window.

If you are adding new a VolumeKey, pressing this button does not add the new VolumeKey and closes the Add/Edit window.
